Common phrases or words that could ruin your resume or CV

      There are s many ways to make a good resume and we may be wonder as which aspect of our CV make good impact. We have mainly 30 seconds to impress the manager, could our CV be failing because it contain full of meaningless phrases or words that put bad impact on our career history. Lets kick some of the phrases;

1)      I have strong work experience-  Avoid using this phrase on your  CV. Give an example, whenever you got chance to work late in office to meet the demand or going out of your way to get the sale for the company.

2)      I’m self motivated- by self motivated, what you are going to explain that you are motivated enough to get up from bed early morning and day’s work. Avoid  such type of phrases on your resume.

3)      I’m team player- try to avoid , the phrase itself if you can. If you are team player that’s fine but never try to mention that I am team player , who works very well in this group.

4)      I’m detail oriented-It won’t work if you assume it as one of your skill on your resume , don’t expect much.

5)       I have great communication skills- some of users put this as  a piece of terminology in their CV without any real thought of what it means . If you are eagerly to wrote  then try to wrote “ I have skills to wrote documents which reduced customers service call by 50 %”

6)       I’m hard worker- with such type of phrases  on your resume  or CV,  never expect to see your CV into  “ YES “ pile.  In spite of  writing this always try to make why people consider yourself to be hard working people.

7)      I’m responsible for- never make use of such words on your CV . always use numbers to quantify your achievements. For example always written as I achieved 92 % of my sale target rather than I was responsible for achieving  sale targets

8)      Utilized my skills- of course who else  skills would we be using? It’s wiser to use  direct language on your CV.

9)      Problem solving skill- never make use of such type of phrases. Rather than you can explain it by  giving examples in your career, other than it will  irritates the recruiter that who else has problem solving.

10)   Salary  negotiable- if you are going to write such line on your resume that means you waste your time, it looks as you have run out of things to talk about,
if you are going to write this line, that would be somewhat usual.

       11) Experience working in-   experience  refers to  something you achieve, it does
Not means something that happens to you , try to refer your achievements.

       12) “Objective”-   if you want  to get  job you have applied for, the word “ resume
objective” is replaced by “ career summary”.

       13) I like fast paced environment- today’s time all business should be running at
good speed, don’t try to make use of such words or phrases just a waste of
               Space on your CV.

        14) Reference or request- Recruiters will ask for reference before take you on for
The job. It may be pointless to put it on your resume.

Don't just focus on backlinks

Updated strategy to get traffic

There are many SEO consultants and companies who can guarantee to show results within 1-3 months, but what kind of results they are talking about.

Get your few keywords to rank high in Google search result.
Improved SEO of your website.
Created lot of backlinks for your website.
So what is your Return on investment (ROI) after 2-4 months of SEO
-You will have your keywords in good ranking. Only low competition and low traffic keywords will rank in that time frame.
-You stop SEO for few weeks and all your traffic/ranking is gone.

Since we as SEO company were doing the same thing and after various Google updates, we have seen less ROI. One thing that we have to admit that for small businesses and new websites, SEO can not bring immediate traffic, not considering exceptional cases.

This all lead us to modify our strategy to focus on various other marketing strategies and not just SEO. We tried this on some new websites and can see good traffic from beginning
and it retains even if we don't create so many back links.

You can also do this by your own, you don't need us or any other SEO company. The main thing is the strategy.

Change your focus- Don't make backlinks. This is where many of SEO guys get confused and they just think of getting high PR and other types of backlinks.

Focus on branding yourself, let people know about you, word of mouth etc.
People spend a lot of time in facebook, twitter , linkedin, foursquare, pinterest, google plus
and many similar website. You will have to spend some time to understand how these sites works and how to build audience from these sites. I will be adding more updates for tips to increase presence in each social site in my next articles.

If you try optimizing yourself to get traffic from social sites, your Google traffic will automatically increase. I tried this rule on various client websites and it worked really well. I want you to try this also. If you want to know more about strategies contact me at info@zeustek.com and i will let you know your strategy based on your websites and business.

resume first job

The word resume does not mean “who are you?” or “ why you want this job?” . Resume is that where you answer the question of employer “ why he will hire you for this job?” . Many of us are worried how to write a resume for the first job without experience. Its not a simple task. Make your resume on simple white sheet and should not be more than a page . It should be in such a way that within four five lines , it makes clear to the interviewer why you will be hired for this job?

 1) Correct Information Always try to list your name, address, contact number or email address correctly. Never use your nick name ( for example super stud Rajiv) in your email address, it puts bad impression on the interviewer. Always use simple or professional email address. If you don’t have, make it.

 2) Experience When you start thinking about your experiences from background, you have lots of experiences to refer. Never try to mix your hobbies with your experiences. For example if you have applied for job in education department ( professor or lecturer) for that you are good in knowledge, language or communication skills . If you have some experience in debate competition, it will be helpful for you .

 3) Make it your own Always try to make your own resume, never copy it from internet, just pick your style and make it by yourself. Always make it clear, eye- catching and easy to read. While you are finishing your resume always refer “what kind of work you are going to do , if you are hired for this job?”

Common mistakes during an interview

One of the most important thing is to focus on the verbal expressions that will help us in getting
our jobs. All applicants may have same type of degrees , resumes  and  experiences but we
can differ our self by  our expressions and way of talking.

While interview we have to focus on our verbal cues so that we can make good impression over the interviewer.

 1) Hand shake : It depends on you how you can do it. Always try to hand shake in a
soft and firm manner . Never try it so hard as to break the bones

2) Eye contact : eye contact is an important key factor during an interview. Too much
of eye contact leads to irritation and aggression while little eye contact makes you
dishonest and as if you are not interested in the task or you  are hiding yourself. So always
try to make balance in your eye contact, for example if you have an interview of about
20 minutes, it doesn't mean that u are continuously starring to your boss for 20 minutes
or when you come out you didn't even know the color of eyes of the boss.

3) Eye rolling :during an interview eye rolling makes  bad impression of yours. during
interview the interviewer think that you are not interested in chatting or you have some
other better options

 4) posture :always try to sit straight and be alert. dot try to be over confident.
